Vincent V. Severski, actually Włodzimierz Sokołowski, is an author of thriller novels and a retired colonel in the Polish intelligence service. He worked as an operations officer for almost 30 years and carried out dozens of missions in many countries around the world. He left the service in 2010 and took up writing. He has published nine novels, which have sold nearly one million copies, and the TV series Illegals was based on one of them.
